Where Do We Go From Here?....

Dark, dark days at the moment. Investors pulling out left right and centre due to the dreaded credit crunch which means that not only do bills not get paid but projects get put on hold and people's employment futures are discussed. Having escaped one restructuring two years ago to come here I am not altogether keen to go through the wringer a second time....

I can't say that it is not entirely unexpected; evaluations for companies in our sector are based on the amount of reserves that you have in your various areas of interest. If you have few or none of these then it is very difficult to get other to pump in money on your behalf for what is essentially a really big gamble (instead of just a normal big gamble) and with company valuations being wiped cleaner than a baby's behind (but marginally less smooth) it's a bit like trying to catch rain in a sieve. Without a sieve....

Time to polish up the CV and get out there in the big (and definitely at this time, horrible) jobs marketplace and see where it takes me. I will try and keep you all in the loop as to what is going on. One-to-one meetings should be arranged by the end of this week. In the meantime we will just sit tight and, to use a well-worn cliche, take every day as it comes....
